The principal architect for the Downtown Streetscape was Paul Kennon, who created an inviting space that unifies the downtown. Washington Street is lined with Aristocrat pear trees, and Bar Harbor junipers at the intersection “neckouts.” Intimate thoroughfares provide intriguing passage from parking lots to busy Washington Street, featuring brick walkways, plantings, flowering pots, and neon sculptures.
